The Spanish Ministry of Economy and Business completed an auction of 200MHz of spectrum in the 3.6-3.8GHz band, raising a total €437.65m. The spectrum is packaged in lots of 5MHz each, with licences valid until 2038. Of the four participants, Vodafone secured the highest share (90MHz) for a total of €198.1m; Orange obtained 60MHz for €132.15m, whereas Telefonica invested €107.4m in 50MHz of spectrum. Masmovil/Yoigo did not obtain any spectrum. The aggregate payment over 20 years amounts to €542.1m including interests; to this, another €868.5m in reserve fees are added, for a total €1.41bn.
