UK regulator Ofcom released its annual report on the state of UK communications markets. The report shows an overall decline by 2.1% across communications markets. Telecoms markets’ revenues fell by 1.1% on the previous year; however, while retail mobile revenues fell by 1.3%, retail fixed revenues had a slight increase (+0.1%). Fibre connections grow significantly (+29.2%) although it is still largely FTTC connections rather than FTTP. The report also cast a light on users’ behaviour, highlighting increasingly strong “digital dependency”.
