Easier access to government land in Chile for infrastructure deployment

The Chilean Sub-secretariat of Telecommunications (SUBTEL) struck an agreement with the Ministry of National Assets, to facilitate the deployment of telecommunications infrastructure on land owned by the government. Under the agreement, the Ministry of National Assets commits to make available land or assets that are strategic for the deployment of physical networks, such as fiber optic cables and towers. This will enable the deployment of mobile base stations on state-owned land, or the attachment of cells to buildings owned or administered by the state. The Ministry of National Assets will provide Subtel with information on bidding or leasing processes of the sites that telecommunications companies can use for the deployment of infrastructure.
